Lake Tahoe

California, October 2020

Despite the tribulations this year has already offered, Tahoe has been one of the few and first “normal” things for me. We surprised a dear friend for a golden birthday. We were able to tag along for the long drive and turn it into quality time. From the backseat of the car came sprinklings of Everything Bagel Seasoning - something you’ll have to ask me about in person. We stayed in the cutest A-frame cabin via Airbnb on the Northern California side of Tahoe. The west coast (best coast!!) mountains loomed in the distance with a literal haze from the Napa Valley fires. We spent our evenings watching the sunset at King’s Beach or playing Dutch Blitz. We made vegan meals and, during the day, circumnavigated Lake Tahoe itself. Lake Tahoe is a quintessential west coast summer escape and provided everything and more for this particular time. Amongst various moments, we played mini-golf with beers in our water bottles; I lost a challenge and shotgunned a beer which I sprayed everywhere; we laid on the beach in 70-degree weather without a care; we stared in awe at the majesty of Tahoe; and, above all, spent a few short days in a cabin soaking up every nuanced moment together. Though a short period of time, we made the most of it. Please enjoy these small figments of time I was able to catch on film because you will never understand how much this trip meant to me at this time in my life. One of the few vacations I’ve been fortunate to be able to take this year, trust, and believe that this one has been cherished.
